Last September my husband Patrick and I got married.  At that time we were living in a condo in Valparaiso that Patrick had already owned.  I am a Chesterton girl and my family lives in Chesterton so I was eager to move back there.  Patrick was a little hesitant about the whole move thing, let alone buying a house.   I knew Machelle Blount had recently been developing her realty company, Northwest Indiana Realty and thought I would get her thoughts on our condo and buying a house in general.  She immediately asked what we were looking for and what our price range was.  Within days we were receiving notices of houses that met our criteria.  She also introduced us to a finance company that helped us go through the financing issues which had been worrisome to us.  Together they had made things much clearer to us and made us realize that we could in fact, get what we were looking for. 

Machelle listed out condo and within days we had interested parties coming to look at it and actually sold in within a month.  Machelle handled all of the details as well as any issues with realtors that came up.  While all of this was going on, we started looking at houses in Chesterton.  I fell in love with the first house we looked at, even though it was a bit of a fixer upper.  Both Machelle and my husband wanted me to look at other houses, so we did.  Machelle found many nice houses that we liked, but the first house was still my favorite.  The house was a foreclosure house, which can sometimes be difficult.  Machelle took charge when we started having problems with the bank which held the house.  We closed a few weeks later.  Machelle did such a wonderful job for us, fielding us from all the issues as they arose, and only involving us when necessary.  She also goes the extra mile due to her acquaintances within the housing industry in the area.  She set us up with our painters; plumber… the list goes on.  The next time, if ever, I am looking for a house, she would be my girl!
